GrungeCake Magazine Interview with Alley of CuckoldMistressHotline.com!

I am Cuckold Mistress Alley and the motto of my business is to provide submissive men a place where they can come and share, explore and be properly trained in many forms of submission. Many men dream of being a cuckold, embracing their submissive selves and the humiliation that submission brings but are married to very vanilla women who would not indulge their needs. I am here to let them live out their fantasies, push their boundaries and open up a whole new world of fetish domination for them to explore privately.

Like most real-life fairy tales, Lime Crime began as one girl’s dream to make the world a brighter place. New Releases: Caits Meissner’s “Blackest Blood”

New Releases: Caits Meissner’s “Blackest Blood”

Executive Produced by Just Plain Ant; featuring Maya Azucena, Jesse Boykins III, Dunce Apprentice and Broke MC; with production by Blu, Cazeaux OSLO, Just Plain Ant, Bisco Smith, Cave and The Aftermath.

Caits Meissner, well-known for her writing in respected poetry circles, and work as an educator/community organizer in youth circles, now steps out with a fantastic music project. Embedded in and influenced by the experimental hip hop community, Caits’ songs are word-driven vignettes delving deep into the heart of human experience: loneliness, inspiration, love and loss set over visually lush landscapes from current hip hop/electronic producers.

In regards to her past work, Erykah Badu calls her “fresh, honest and loving… a delicate heart like mine.” Doodlebug of Digable Planets describes her as “melodic words of wisdom… streetjazzoetry.” This round, surprising her fans by singing at times in her honest and edgy tone, Caits reveals the soulful songwriter beneath her poems. Something precious, her words beat like a full heart without false bravado, a seeking for something beyond, a prayer. The Wolf & Me is something that will linger in your soul.

The Wolf & Me is a multi-platform project, inspired by classic elements of the vinyl era, which includes a PDF download of the lyrics designed by Caits (who also holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Pratt Institute), art directed by designer Tishon Woolcock and shot by renown photographer Seth Kushner. London-based poet Warsan Shire contributes her words, reviving the lost of art of liner notes. According to Caits, The Wolf & Me aims to be “a multi-sensory journey, the kind of album you listen to under headphones, in the dark hours of the early morning.” She hopes the words bring you alive.

Caits has a substantial background in performance poetry but recently transitioned into working with music, most notably with German producers Comfort Fit and Portformat on the Tokyo Dawn record label. Originally from Albany, NY, she has been Brooklyn-based for the past eight years. Caits studied in Africa under Pulitzer Prize winner Yusef Komunyakaa, and building off such legacies as Gil Scott-Heron, works to create a musical experience rooted in storytelling.

Music: Recording Artist Peter Hadar

Incomparable to any talent waiting behind the gates of fame or pushing the sewer tops of the ‘underground’ arena, Peter Hadar has a stage presence, presentation, tone, and sexy unlike any other. Though entertainers like Tom Jones and feminine crowds of the ’60s have seemingly faded, Hadar is the budding exception. He has the ‘Ill-throw-my-pannies-at-you-right-now’ spunk! Ladies, if you have yet to witness a Hadar show, kindly attend his performance on Thursday, April 15th, 2010 at Ella Lounge. Bring a friend or more. I can not wait to see your reactions. (Smiles) For more about Peter Hadar, kindly click here. For your information, Provider is my favorito tracko!

GrungeCake Magazine Interview with Recording Artists Phony Bastards!

GrungeCake Magazine Interview with Recording Artists Phony Bastards!

Phony Bastards, recording artists Jade Ross and Noni Limar are quite the characters. Though, contrary, Ross and Limar make a beautiful blend. Their voices are dreamy, and soothing. Above all else, I really enjoyed their conversation. I hope you will, too. Press play for the experience.

GrungeCake Magazine Interview with Recording Artist Gina Rene!

Gina Rene found her earliest musical influences inside two generations of her very own multi-cultural family. Her grandfather Leon Rene wrote the Rock and Roll classic, “Rockin’ Robin” as well as Louis Armstrong’s theme song “Sleepy Time Down South.” Her father wrote “Wham Bam” which featured blues legend Johnny “Guitar” Watson and drummer Earl Palmer. Going well beyond her lineage, everything from the sounds of 1940’s torch style singing, coupled with the soul of Chaka Khan and Prince took hold of her creative soul. However, the raw creativity of 80’s Hip-Hop became the final ingredient of the harmonic recipe that gave birth to Gina Rene’s incomparable musical style. A native of the bohemian city of Santa Cruz, California, Gina Rene grew up performing everywhere she could including the Philippines, Malaysia, Mexico City, New York, Chicago, Toronto, Vancouver, Detroit, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and more.

Film and Video: “Sex Positive”

Film and Video: “Sex Positive”

Most young filmmakers quickly define themselves in terms of both their creative roles and genre specialties, however Daryl Wein has so far benefited from doing exactly the opposite. Born in Santa Monica in 1983, Wein grew up in Connecticut and commuted to auditions in New York City as he pursued a career as a child actor, mostly in commercials. At the same time, Wein’s father’s interest in chronicling their family life on home video lead the young thespian to become fascinated with being on the other side of the camera. At the age of 16, he made Life is a Train, a short film which won him an award at the International Young Filmmaker’s Festival in New York, as well as the inaugural You Belong in Connecticut Young Media Maker Award. He went to NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts to study drama and film, and also appeared in small roles in the films Magic Rock (2001) and The Hebrew Hammer (2003) as well as the Comedy Central TV movie Porn ‘n Chicken (2002). In 2007, he co-wrote, directed and edited the short film Unlocked, starring Olivia Thirlby and executive produced by director Stephen Daldry, which played at the Tribeca Film Festival. Wein’s first narrative feature, Breaking Upwards, which is based on Wein’s relationship with actress Zoe Lister-Jones and features the pair playing versions of themselves, premiered at SXSW earlier this year.

New Releases: Audio Bullys’ “Only Man”

Bully the audio! I enjoy the use of colour, the wardrobe, and the wide angles of the ‘Only Man’ music video. As a designer who appreciates the ‘little things’ — I also noticed the die-cut car freshener. Not sure if it is an international thing, but I can dig it. Nice touch. Really. I can’t stop dancing!
